The Courtship card is a hand made illustrated design which is apart of the folklore series inspired by wonderful stories and poems from all around the UK.

On the back of each card is a small story which matches the beautiful drawing.

Earl Mar's Daughter.

One day she was sitting under a tree listening to the beautiful songs the bird would make. She asked him to come down and she would give him a golden cage and would look after him better than anyone. He flew down and she took him home, but the bird had a spell cast upon him by his mother, to make him a bird by day and a human prince by night. They fell in love and wed secretly. They had 7 children all in secret but the daughter's father told her she will now marry a rich man. The prince flew home to ask his mother for help. She gave him a spell to turn into a huge bird and lead an army to help his wife. He was successful and brought her back to his mother's home where she released him from the spell and they lived happily ever after.
