Blodeuwedd Card
Blodeuwedd Card by Meg Harriet at Sancho's, Exeter, UK.
The Blodeuwedd card is a hand made illustrated design which is apart of the folklore series inspired by wonderful stories and poems from all around the UK.
On the back of each card is a small story which matches the beautiful drawing.
More than just a card this is perfect as a gift, either as a print or personalised as a card for a loved one or even kept as a present for yourself.
Writing on the back of the card,
Blodeuwedd was a flower maiden, made by men, for a man, in the image of their own desires, feelings and ideas about what a lover should be.
Blodeuwedd married Llew and became the perfect wife and mate. When she married Gronw, something deep inside of Blodeuwedd came alive. She embraced and declared her feelings of love. Blodeuwedd reclaims her power in this act.
She attacked Llew so she could love in peace with her lover Gronw., but she did not succeed and was punished by being turned into a owl.
For me, i see this lesson as leaving behind our youth and innocence to become independent and claim our feminine divine and become wise.
