What do you get for the person who has everything?

Christmas and the holiday season is a wonderful time to gift beautiful or useful things to the ones you love, but what do you get for the person who has everything? OR the person who is very picky? When you’re unsure what to get with some people, why not pay it forwards to someone else? Buy a gift for someone in need on behalf of them.

Great for the community and the planet

Our ‘pay it forward’ period pants scheme has been a successful way to create meaningful change on a small scale within our community. You can buy a pair of ‘pay it forward’ period pants for £30 which will then be donated to Exeter's St Petrocks charity, which helps local people suffering from homelessness and who are vulnerably housed Find out more here. This is a great ethical gift for someone you won’t be seeing in person this Christmas, as it saves CO2 emitted from the transportation, and the plastic waste from wrapping paper and tape!

Write them a card or holiday email

Then you could simply write a card to your loved one, thanking them for the opportunity to help someone this Christmas. If you don’t know what to say, here’s some ideas:

Merry Christmas Auntie Geraldine,

This Christmas I have taken the opportunity to donate a pair of period pants to someone in need on behalf of you! Period poverty affects 1 in 10 people with periods in the UK. A study by Plan international in 2017 found that 1 in 10 people with periods aged 14 to 21 can't afford to buy menstrual products. 49% of people with periods have missed a day of school due to their period and nearly half were embarrassed about having periods. The ‘pay it forward’ scheme I have donated to, means that by purchasing a pair of zero waste period pants, Sancho’s can donate a pair to someone in need through St Petrocks charity.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give back this Christmas!
